Wedding :|: Mr. and Mrs. Elmore Shoto

I met Elmore + Verticia a couple weeks ago. It was such a fun day of celebration as two became one.
I was so excited to meet this sweet couple. Both are students at Jackson State University and are members of the Reformed University Fellowship under the teaching of Elbert McGowan.
It was such a joyful day! Not only was I privileged to witness and journal the marriage ceremony of this sweet couple... I also got to hear one of my favorite brothers/pastors officiate the ceremony.
We met at the Reservoir for the celebration and quickly realized...we're going to freeze! Especially Verticia! Her dress was sooo pretty... It was that fun flowy satiny material. She was stunning, so gorgeous! But hello, fun flowy satiny stuff is not very warm... so we snapped a few fun shots, then went back to the warm for the ceremony.

It made me melt a lil the way Elmore looks at his new wife. There's such tender care and appreciation in his eyes.
Verticia your beauty is radiant! I mean let's face it, you just can't hide natural beauty!

I love these 2 shots, above and below. Not only are Elmore and Verticia overflowing with joy and love for one another. Also, I love the expression of love, joy and excitement on Elbert's face. His love for the people God has placed in his life shows in this uncontrollable cheese ball grin. PRICELESS!

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Elmore Shoto
I had to slip this one in, because I just love Elmore's smile... you can just tell he adores Verticia so much!

Elmore, Verticia and their adorable son Kayden
 Sweet love...
Elmore and Verticia, thank you for allowing me the privilege of being a part of your celebration day. I enjoyed every second... even the freezing ones! ;) I pray God's blessings on your new marriage, family and life together. May He continue to grow the love between you evermore in Him.
Merry Christmas sweet Shoto Family. Love y'all!

Wonderful pictures! And such a lovely couple! I like the last picture too because of the little McGowan face watching from the Christmas tree :)

Children + Family Journal :|: Thornton Families

I just love the Winters Family! Heather and Eric are practically part of my family. Their girls are bestest friends with my niece and nephews, as well as they are best of friends with my brother and sis-in-law. Also they are no strangers to my camera as I have done several sessions with their beautiful, adorable lil' girls!  This year I had the privilege of doing a complete Winter-Thornton Family session! I got to meet Heather's parents, two brothers and their families. It was a gorgeous day and we made the most of the sunshine and their family land. Her mom was so sweet to cut the grass for me and fix things up just so ... then I shocked her by wanting to do a lot of the shooting in an old chicken house. The lighting was amazing as the bright sunshine diffused through the house. hahaha! I guess only a crazy photographer's eye   would think of such insanity! ha! Sorry Mrs. Barbara... I had so much fun meeting all of the Thornton family...   Heather, I know I've ...

The LiL Gifts

It seems to be the lil things that mean the most this time of year..... The sparkle of decorations, tree lights, and the twinkle in the kid's eyes when present time comes around...   The unfiltered expressions of elation in getting fun gifts...   Getting them just the right gift  and seeing it in their smiles...   Watching them play, climb, enjoy and meddle with the Christmas things...   Getting those unexpected hugs and 'I love yous' from lil ones...   Watching personalities light up and come alive...   Love that unfiltered excitement...   These lil ones make this time of year priceless... From my family to yours with joy... HAPPY HOLIDAYS! :)
