Children's Journal :|: Winter Girls

It is my privilege to introduce to you the Winter girls. Last thursday, Lil' Lucy turned one and I had the joy of journaling her on her birthday.
Lucy even shared some of the spotlight with her big Sis Addison. We had so much fun wandering around Strawberry Patch Park, getting dirty, chasing ducks, and just being fun lil girls :)
One of the reasons I love journaling children with photography is because you can capture the exact place they are at in life. Both lil' Winters are at a hair phase. Lucy wanted her pretty white bow out of her hair! This was the beginning of the bow wars... stay tuned for the winner!
Bis Sis is a twirly girl at this fun stage. She twirls those pretty red curls like they're satin ribbons between her fingers
Love their froofy white dresses! I mean girls just gotta be girls sometimes ;)
Addison, better know as Mini E. has the cutest personality... I think it's somewhat similar to her daddy! Fun and full of life!
Aren't they just adorable?!
Lil one year cheeser... sportin some pearly whites :D

This one is my fav of Addison... there's something about the way the wind caught her curls and her look of relaxation enjoying every swoosh of the swing...
The next 2 are my favs of Lucy... the light was scrumptious and she happened to stop at just the right spot! Thank you!
Who do these precious girls get their looks from?! Well... it must be their daddy because their momma still has hers!!! ;) Heather you are gorgeous!
I'm in love with the Winter girls' red hair... I just can't get enough!
And mommy wins with the bow! :) Such a cutie and adorable smile!
We even had time for a lil fun! :)
Then it was birthday cake time! Woohoo!!!
She wasn't quite sure about it... and sure didn't like the way it stuck to her fingers once she dug in
Once the cake was left unattended... big Sis knew exactly what to do! ha! Hurry before Lucy comes back...
Now that is how it's done!
HAPPY ONE YEAR BIRTHDAY LIL LU! Thank y'all for letting me be a part of the birthday fun! I enjoyed every minute.
Love y'all Winter girls!

Children + Family Journal :|: Thornton Families

I just love the Winters Family! Heather and Eric are practically part of my family. Their girls are bestest friends with my niece and nephews, as well as they are best of friends with my brother and sis-in-law. Also they are no strangers to my camera as I have done several sessions with their beautiful, adorable lil' girls!  This year I had the privilege of doing a complete Winter-Thornton Family session! I got to meet Heather's parents, two brothers and their families. It was a gorgeous day and we made the most of the sunshine and their family land. Her mom was so sweet to cut the grass for me and fix things up just so ... then I shocked her by wanting to do a lot of the shooting in an old chicken house. The lighting was amazing as the bright sunshine diffused through the house. hahaha! I guess only a crazy photographer's eye   would think of such insanity! ha! Sorry Mrs. Barbara... I had so much fun meeting all of the Thornton family...   Heather, I know I've ...

Wedding :|: Tim + Janet Jordan

I love Janet Morrow Jordan! I had the privilege of working with her during my high school and college days. We went through a lot together, therefore it meant the world to me to have the privilege to capture her wedding. I enjoyed every second of Janet + Tim's special day. It brought my heart deep joy and satisfaction to see Janet so happy and loved. Not only did I enjoy capturing her wedding; shooting her wedding also reunited Janet and I after about eight years of our lives going in opposite directions. So not only am I overjoyed at her finding the love of her life. I am thrilled to have a great friend back! The only problem in doing this post is I had trouble only picking a few pictures... so it's a long post of fun details and love. Enjoy  Amber, Janet's precious daughter, wrote her the most intimate, loving letter before her wedding. She gave her the letter to read along with a handkerchief which belonged to Janet's PePop. Amber also carried PePop's hand...
