Workshop 101 + Mrs. Ewing Debut

This past Friday I was privileged to attend a workshop hosted by Erin Fults, a very talented photographer in Clinton, MS. She has been so gracious to take me under her wing over this past year and has taught me so much about photography. She overflows with wisdom, insight, tips, technicalness (is that a word?), tricks, knowledge and know how & this past Friday I was privileged to sit under the Erin Fults fountain of knowledge and soak like a parched earth after a drought.
The day was so much fun as Erin taught about DSLR cameras and specifically how to shoot on manual mode instead of automatic point and shoot. WOW! Who knew there was so much involved in taking the perfect picture! Several light bulbs went off in my head as she taught. I love those AH HA moments when 1 + 1 finally meet and it all comes together and = 2!
Erin is a talented and unique photographer, wise and gifted teacher, and most important to me, a loving, gracious and kind friend!
I love you Erin and thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule share some of your gold nuggets of knowledge!
And now, drum roll please........
Meet Mrs. Angela Ewing!
I was so blessed all the way around & surrounded by sweet friends on Friday! Angela is one of my closest friends, and she was our gorgeous model on Friday, not to mention she doubled as chef in the kitchen with me... thank you, thank you, thank you, I couldn't have done it without you! I have to share that on the way to the workshop Angela was a lil nervous and not too sure about the whole "modeling thing"....
Oh, but once she got going there was no stopping her...
She is a natural, there is no question about that...
She worked it out in front of 15+ cameras like it was nothing!!! Just another day being gorgeous! :)
Ang, thank you for letting your sweet personality show through in front of our cameras!
Not only is she a stunning natural beauty but she's stylish too!
And trust me when I say her heart is just as beautiful as her smile! It was a fabulous workshop, I could not have asked for more.
Thank you Erin and Angela for a wonderful day of photography fun!

Children + Family Journal :|: Thornton Families

I just love the Winters Family! Heather and Eric are practically part of my family. Their girls are bestest friends with my niece and nephews, as well as they are best of friends with my brother and sis-in-law. Also they are no strangers to my camera as I have done several sessions with their beautiful, adorable lil' girls!  This year I had the privilege of doing a complete Winter-Thornton Family session! I got to meet Heather's parents, two brothers and their families. It was a gorgeous day and we made the most of the sunshine and their family land. Her mom was so sweet to cut the grass for me and fix things up just so ... then I shocked her by wanting to do a lot of the shooting in an old chicken house. The lighting was amazing as the bright sunshine diffused through the house. hahaha! I guess only a crazy photographer's eye   would think of such insanity! ha! Sorry Mrs. Barbara... I had so much fun meeting all of the Thornton family...   Heather, I know I've ...

Wedding :|: Tim + Janet Jordan

I love Janet Morrow Jordan! I had the privilege of working with her during my high school and college days. We went through a lot together, therefore it meant the world to me to have the privilege to capture her wedding. I enjoyed every second of Janet + Tim's special day. It brought my heart deep joy and satisfaction to see Janet so happy and loved. Not only did I enjoy capturing her wedding; shooting her wedding also reunited Janet and I after about eight years of our lives going in opposite directions. So not only am I overjoyed at her finding the love of her life. I am thrilled to have a great friend back! The only problem in doing this post is I had trouble only picking a few pictures... so it's a long post of fun details and love. Enjoy  Amber, Janet's precious daughter, wrote her the most intimate, loving letter before her wedding. She gave her the letter to read along with a handkerchief which belonged to Janet's PePop. Amber also carried PePop's hand...
