I recently attempted a decoupage project for a sweet sweet friend... and when I say attempted, well, I jumped in knee deep, literally. I started this 'modge podge' baby gift project on my bedroom floor and soon was covered from finger tips to knees in modge podge glue! For any of you who don't know what decoupage is... it's basically glueing layer after layer after layer after layer of pictures/paper/magazines/cards, etc.. onto basically anything. The modge podge is like glue but has something special in it that makes it dry super clear and seals everything in nice and neat. It's such a fun project if you are ever looking for some way to get your hands creatively messy! And trust me when I say you can decoupage ANYTHING!... including yourself if you're not careful... ha!

Children + Family Journal :|: Thornton Families

I just love the Winters Family! Heather and Eric are practically part of my family. Their girls are bestest friends with my niece and nephews, as well as they are best of friends with my brother and sis-in-law. Also they are no strangers to my camera as I have done several sessions with their beautiful, adorable lil' girls!  This year I had the privilege of doing a complete Winter-Thornton Family session! I got to meet Heather's parents, two brothers and their families. It was a gorgeous day and we made the most of the sunshine and their family land. Her mom was so sweet to cut the grass for me and fix things up just so ... then I shocked her by wanting to do a lot of the shooting in an old chicken house. The LiL Gifts

It seems to be the lil things that mean the most this time of year..... The sparkle of decorations, tree lights, and the twinkle in the kid's eyes when present time comes around...   The unfiltered expressions of elation in getting fun gifts...   Getting them just the right gift  and seeing it in their smiles...   Watching them play, climb, enjoy and meddle with the Christmas things...   Getting those unexpected hugs and 'I love yous' from lil ones...   Watching personalities light up and come alive...   Love that unfiltered excitement...   These lil ones make this time of year priceless...
